Website for a Construction Company: What to Show Clients So They Trust You
Short answer: a construction or renovation company website has to show three things within seconds: what you have already built, roughly what it costs, and how fast a client can reach you. Customers spend a lot of money and fear making a mistake, so the site works first for trust and only then for looks.
What the website must include
- Project portfolio. Real before-and-after photos, area, timeline and a list of the work done. Your own projects, not stock images.
- Services and prices. A list of works and approximate prices per square metre or as ranges. Even a “from” price removes part of the doubt and filters out unsuitable requests.
- Cost estimate. A simple form or calculator: the visitor enters the area and type of work and leaves a phone number. This is the best way to collect leads.
- Client reviews. Names, the project and, if possible, a photo of the finished result.
- Contract and guarantees. What you provide in writing: a contract with an estimate, a warranty on the work, staged payment.
- Team and equipment. Showing the people who will come to the site removes the main fear: “who is going to show up at my place?”
How to build the page so it collects leads
The first screen: what you do, where you work and from what price, plus a “Get an estimate” button. Then 3–5 of your best projects, the work stages (measurement, estimate, contract, work, handover), reviews and a form. Your phone number and messenger should be visible on every screen: most clients search from a smartphone and want to call right away.
Common mistakes
- Stock photos. People feel immediately that these are not your projects.
- No prices at all. Without a reference point the client simply goes to the company that names one.
- Instagram only, no website. Google shows social profiles worse than websites, so part of your clients will not find you.
- Contacts buried at the bottom. The contact button should be in the header and on every screen.
- The site does not work on a phone. That cuts off most of your traffic; read more in mobile-friendly website.
How much a construction company website costs
- One-page site (services, portfolio, estimate form) — $250–600.
- Multi-page site (separate pages for services and projects, reviews, blog) — $600–1500.
- With a cost calculator and lead transfer into a CRM — $1200–2500+.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need a website if clients come through recommendations?
Yes. A recommendation sends people to check you: they google the company and want to see your work and contract terms. Without a website, trust drops.
How many projects should the portfolio show?
5–10 of the best and most recent ones, each with area, timeline and what was done. Fewer but detailed is better.
Should prices be shown on the site?
Yes, at least “from” prices. This filters out unsuitable requests and builds trust.
